Mr. Ceiling (2022) is a short film written and directed by Zack Webb. I designed four costumes from scratch, using bought resources and working into them. We had a very limited budget as it was a graduate film so had to also use some things we owned!

For Yvaine’s costume I paired items in a distinct colourway, with natural elements, reflecting her neutral, reserved, often shy character. Percy’s character design needed to reflect his self-aggrandizing nature, so I added gold accents in the design to give a regal hint. Khary’s character is blind, so texture was important to try and carry across in the design. For Riley, as the main character, there was more attention paid to the rebellious nature. I took the sleeves off a denim jacket, broke it down to give hints of wear and tear, then printed custom badges along with a custom t-shirt, which I broke down to give the impression it had been worn a while. The floral accents show his ability to grow in a tough situation, like wildflowers.
