This project was for my final year of university, where I looked at the Witcher game/book/Netflix series, and reinterpreted the main character Geralt as a woman, with a focus on historical form and materials, and added fantasy elements. I made several preliminary designs before pulling them all into one final design I was happy with.
I re-used discarded red leather for the maroon aspects of the costume, with hand-carved veg-tan leather for the chest and back pieces, as well as the forearm greaves. The undershirt is linen, and the chain mail was pieced together by a fellow student using lightweight aluminium to ensure the model was not over-encumbered. The trousers are thick wool. The costume was finally weathered and broken down with theatrical materials.
